GOES Dimmer Shutter Installation Instructions
GOES Dimmer Shutter installation
Place between suppport rods
  1. Installing the Dimmer Shutter. There is a clamping bracket at the top of the unit. Loosen the wing nuts so that the clamp is open and ready for placement into the fixture. It is spring loaded and the clamp will separate leaving a generous space.

  2. Placement of the Dimmer Shutter. For best results you want to place the Dimmer Shutter as far away from the lamp and reflector assembly as possible, as close to the very front face of the unit as you can get it. Your choice of placement will depend on the focus of the zoom lens system. We suggest that you first focus your beam to determine where the lenses will most likely be when you are using the fixture in its final position. Since the range of focus is quite wide there is no way to predict this until you have selected and adjusted your light to your particular installation.

  3. Once you have determined the final position of the zoom lenses you can select the best place to secure the Dimmer Shutter, keeping in mind that the closer to the face you can place it, the more out of focus, the smoother the dimmer fade will be.

  4. Insert the Dimmer Shutter between the support rods. Turn it parallel to the rods and slip it through in the space where you have determined it will be installed. Then turn it so that it is perpendicular to the rods (parallel to the lenses) as you slide the clamp onto the support rods. It will be a tight fit because the dowser is in proximity to the fixture housing. The dowser will rub the metal housing as you turn it into place.

  5. If you have enough space to fit it in a position but the lenses don't permit you to start the installation in the parallel position (see # 4 above), you can move the lens after you have determined the focus. Then you may move one or both lenses to allow space for the insertion, install the Dimmer Shutter in place, and move the lens back to your desired position.

  7. Once the Shutter is in place tighten down the clamp so that it does not move and feed the wire back to the Dual Power Supply. Plug the four pin connector marked "Dimmer Motor" into the receptacle marked "Motor Dimmer" on the Dual Power Supply. (See separate Instructions for the Dual Power Supply Mounting and Operation.)

Note: The Dimmer Shutter will work in almost any position inside the unit; however, for the smoothest fades, try to mount it as far forward as possible. The Dimmer Shutter can be mounted in either direction; however, it is best to keep the Shutter further away from the light source, so it is usually best that the drive motor is facing the lamp and reflector assembly.

    CAUTION

Do not unplug or switch off power supply when in operation. Always set command to close shutters before powering down or damage will occur to the unit.
